Auckland Ironbank building one of the world’s best
Ironbank – a new building on Auckland”s Karangahape Rd, won three architecture prizes at the Institute of Architects Auckland Awards ceremony on Tuesday 13 October. The building at 150-154 K Rd won commercial, sustainable architecture, and urban design awards. The building then became shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival Awards in Europe in early November, and was highly commended / runner up for the winning award. Jeff Brown was pleased to carry out the planning work in 2002 – 2008 for Samson Corporation, gaining the resource consents necessary for the impressive seven level “Ironbank” building designed by RTA Studio architects, of Auckland.

RMLA Significant Project Award 2009
Brown & Company were thrilled to advise that The Hills Homesites project received an award from the Resource Management Law Association (RMLA) on Saturday 3 October 2009, in Wellington. Brown & Company and Anderson Lloyd Lawyers co-jointly won the Significant Project Award for The Hills Homesites project in Arrowtown, Otago. This is the second year in a row that Brown & Company and Anderson Lloyd have been co-jointly awarded for their professional efforts by the RMLA. The project will see the development of 17 custom designed dwellings within the folds of The Hills golf course and surrounds – home to the New Zealand Open since 2007. The win signifies real industry acknowledgement of the expertise, time and energy that has gone into The Hills project and is a genuine reflection on the quality of the project developed to date. The Hills Homesites Project was one of 9 nominations in the nationwide project section this year. The criteria for the significant projects category requires set evidence that the project has made a significant contribution to the advancement of resource management best practice. Michael and Christine Hill congratulated Brown & Company and Anderson Lloyd for the award. The win has only furthered their excitement about the project. Michael Hill says, “This is a world first development. There has been a huge amount of expertise involved so far along with a tremendous amount of support from the community.
