Remarkables Park, Queenstown (1997 – present)

High density urban and mixed density residential township Brown & Company are the lead planning consultants on the rezoning of this 150 hectare block of land at the centre of the Southern Lakes District – New Zealand’s fastest growing region.

Planners: Jeff Brown, Alyson Hutton

Brown & Company has prepared all resource consents for the Remarkables Park Town Centre, a centre providing large and small retail format facilities for the Queenstown community. Brown & Company continues to provide the planning role in the ongoing development of this high density urban township. The proposals comprise of a mix of residential, retail, office and recreational activities: plus open space, with transport links (including river ferry opportunities). To date, construction of the Remarkables Park has included areas of low density residential and the Remarkables Park Town Centre. The latter provides the Queenstown area with a range of retail facilities. We have prepared all resource consents, including those for a future hospital, retirement complex, ferry transport and terminal, and further large format retail. Brown & Company are also assisting with the preliminary planning of a high density riverside village.
